Use your firm's experience to make better-informed decisions.
Every matter adds to your firm's experience — the advice given, the terms negotiated, and the reasons behind important decisions. Much of that knowledge remains spread across documents, emails, conversations and individual teams.
SureScale works with law firms to turn that information into practical tools for legal work, matter management and client development.
We connect the information your firm authorises and build around the questions that matter to your practice — suggesting relevant clauses while drafting, drawing on comparable matters to estimate fees, understanding why a position was accepted, or identifying an existing client who may need further support.
No open-ended data projects. We agree the question, scope and evaluation criteria upfront — then the capability can grow across matters, clients and the wider firm.
Find clauses and negotiating positions from genuinely comparable matters, with the context to judge whether they are suitable. See how wording evolved, what concessions were exchanged and why an exception was approved — a clause accepted under particular commercial conditions should not become a precedent stripped of those conditions.
Connect final documents and advice to the instructions, discussions and approvals behind them. Build a picture of what was known, which options were considered, who approved the approach and what remained unresolved — supporting handovers, client discussions and reuse of previous work. Where a reason was never recorded, that gap should remain visible.
Use comparable matters, time records, staffing and financial data to inform estimates of cost, effort and duration. See what drove differences from estimates and which work repeatedly took longer — and surface mid-matter developments that warrant a budget review, revised scope or client conversation.
Bring together what different teams know about a client's work, priorities and outstanding needs — upcoming contractual events, unresolved issues, commitments made in conversations and patterns that justify further advice.
The aim is to give the relationship partner a specific, evidence-backed reason to act: what the client may need, why it matters now and what a sensible next step would be.
Explore patterns across matters, clients and practice areas — profitability, delays, recurring issues and recorded results. Where the historical data is suitable, we can develop and test models for clearly defined outcomes, costs or timescales, with assumptions and uncertainty made clear.
The relevant information extends beyond finished documents — contracts, matter files, versions and comments, emails, meeting notes, approved call recordings, client records, time entries and billing data. We use AI to organise what you authorise into a structured, evolving picture of the firm's work: objectives, issues, people, decisions, commitments and results.
A lawyer can examine a single matter. A relationship partner can review the client picture. Firm management can investigate patterns across the practice — tracing every finding back to the underlying evidence.
For example
A client agrees during a call to a longer notice period, provided an early-termination fee is removed. The next draft retains the fee. A connected view of the discussion and document could flag the inconsistency — and preserve the condition behind that decision for future drafting.
Analysis runs on an agreed schedule, not just when someone asks the right question. Unfulfilled commitments, emerging scope changes, recurring drafting issues and potential client follow-ups are surfaced to the appropriate person for review — with supporting evidence and clear distinctions between recorded facts, inferred connections and missing information.
We start with your practice, your existing systems and the information you are authorised to use. Access, confidentiality, permitted reuse and retention requirements form part of the scope from the outset; cross-matter and cross-client analysis is limited to approved uses.
The tools support your people. Professional judgment, legal advice and decisions about client contact remain with the responsible lawyers.
We are seeking founding law firms to develop and evaluate a focused application using their own approved information. A pilot might focus on contextual drafting, matter estimation or evidence-backed client opportunities.
For selected firms, we offer a scoped pilot with success-based development fees. We agree the problem, scope, evaluation criteria and fee before work begins. The agreed development fee becomes payable only if the pilot meets those criteria.
Your firm provides an engaged sponsor, appropriate access and practical feedback; we develop and evaluate the agreed capability with your team. Third-party costs, ongoing operation and wider deployment are agreed separately. Any public case study would be separately agreed and approved by the firm.
SureScale helps law firms make better use of the experience contained in their matters, documents and communications. We build tools that connect what happened with why decisions were made, supporting drafting, fee estimates, matter analysis and relevant client opportunities. The system can also review new information and flag issues or follow-ups for the responsible lawyer. We are seeking founding firms for a focused, success-based pilot: we agree the scope, fee and measurable outcomes upfront, and the development fee is payable only if those outcomes are met.
